About the Program
Trust us; you do NOT want to fall. Falls very often lead to institutionalization and complex health problems or dependence on others. Our program provides a personal fitness trainer to help you design a routine that makes sense for your lifestyle. It will help increase your strength, balance and flexibility. The program is free to Tri-City residents and includes:
- Home safety check, minor home modifications (such as grab bars, hand held shower assists, commode rails)
- Medication review for possible drug interactions (which are a significant risk factor in falls)
After you enroll, a senior Certified Fitness Trainer who has been doing this work for 25 years will come to your home to assess your level of mobility and create a personalized simple routine. In the following weeks, nursing students stop in to answer questions, provide additional instruction and assess your progress.
Six easy steps you can take to help your older loved one reduce their risk of a fall.
