We are here to help you live independently in the place you call home. We know that many of you might just need a little extra help to do so, and that is why we exist.
LIFE ElderCare’s mission is to empower seniors to live with independence and interdependence by nourishing mind, body and spirit.
Serving the Tri-City area since 1975, we offer 4 programs:
- Meals On Wheels provides hot, home-delivered nutritious meals for those who can’t prepare their own.
- Friendly Visitors provides regular companionship or even just regular phone calls to help seniors AND our volunteers have somebody to spend a little time with.
- Fall Prevention will help you decrease your fear of falling and show you things you can do every day to get a little stronger. Falling is NOT inevitable.
- VIP Rides provides transportation assistance and rides for medical appointments and necessary errands like grocery shopping. We train our volunteers to help AT your destination.
We believe:
- No senior should go hungry, suffer from loneliness, or lack transportation assistance;
- Falls, and their often tragic consequences, are preventable;
- Members of the community enrich their own lives when they join us in fulfilling the mission of LIFE;
- Every senior should have access to quality health and human services;
- Every senior should have the right to thrive and age in the place they call home.
How are we different?
- We are a community-based and community-supported agency just trying to help meet the needs we see in our own neighborhoods.
- Services are based on need, not income.
- If you can help by donating for your services, we gladly accept it. At the same time, we are just as glad to provide all of our services at no-cost if you are unable to pay.
- No long-term commitment is required.
- You chose which services you want and use the services for as long as you need them. You can opt-out of a program and come back whenever you need to. We get that life changes!
- All of our programs are available to residents of Fremont, Newark and Union City, California, who are 60+ years of age (or disabled).
