THE
GIFT OF ATTENTION
"I had 22 rose bushes in Wichita," mused Pauline Elson and "while I miss my gardens and my home, my husband and I feel most fortunate to now be living with our son and daughter-in-law in Fremont."
Although it is not
easy to be uprooted after 84 years in one location, Karen Bresler has
helped to make this transition easier for Pauline. They have become good
companions, thanks to LIFE ElderCare's Friendly Visitors Program. Each
week they get together, have lunch and share some of their life's day-to-day
experiences. The Friendly Visitors Program, providing friendship and reducing
the loneliness experienced by isolated seniors, is one of LIFE Eldercare's
three direct service programs which are formulated to help insure that
the most vulnerable members of our community can live independently for
as long as possible.
