On Wheels - Volunteering
LIFE ElderCare, Inc.'s Meals on Wheels dedicated volunteers deliver hot, nourishing midday meals five days a week and frozen meals on weekends and holidays to frail, elderly, homebound seniors and to individuals with disabilities in the Tri-City Area of Fremont, Newark and Union City.
Volunteering for Meals on Wheels does NOT mean just delivering a hot nourishing meal. Our 200 volunteers also bring a healthy dose of genuine love and compassion to those who depend on this program. The daily deliveries that volunteers make often result in the development of close friendships between the volunteer and the recipient. Also at the time of our meal delivery, should a question arise regarding an elder's health or safety, appropriate action is taken immediately.
Volunteers are VITAL to LIFE ElderCare, Inc.'s successful daily operation. The organization would be unable to operate without the dedication of those who serve as volunteers. Their efforts enable seniors to continue enjoying living in the comfort and privacy of their own home.
