Volunteer

Whether it’s delivering a meal, being a friend, or providing a ride, our volunteers give back in a way that makes them feel good.

“Ever since I started volunteering for LIFE ElderCare, I have become so much happier.  As a volunteer, I get so much more out of it than I put in.”

“It’s all about compassion, something that is inside each and every one of us.  We all get so busy, but we do need to give back a little.  Our seniors don’t need anything extraordinary — simply our time and the fact that we care.”

The most common activities where older people start to have trouble are: shopping and cooking, loneliness, and restricted mobility.  We address all of these issues through a simple, easy to access, community-supported model.  By effectively utilizing community volunteers we enable an elder care option that satisfies what most people want – to live independently, and with dignity, in their own home for as long as safely possible.

LIFE ElderCare was started by a volunteer in 1975.  Since then, thousands of people have made a commitment to making the Tri-City area an “aging-friendly“ community.  Our volunteers range in age from 18 to 80 and come from all walks of life.  They contribute because they know it’s important and because their efforts make a real difference in someone’s life.  It is, truly, a connection of the heart.
