Serving the Tri-City area since 1975, LIFE ElderCare operates on the belief that “with some help,” many at-risk older adults can maintain a good quality of life while living independently in their own home. We offer four direct service programs: Meals On Wheels provides hot, home-delivered nutritious meals, Friendly Visitors provides weekly companionship, Fall Prevention enrolls seniors in a 12-week, personalized, home exercise program, and VIP Rides provides transportation assistance and rides for medical appointments and errands.
With the exception of Meals On Wheels (which is a donation program), all of our programs are available at no cost to residents of Fremont, Newark and Union City, California, who are 60+ years of age (or disabled). To get started, choose the service you are interested in and either call or email the Program Coordinator, or use our online contact form. You can enroll in one, or all four programs, but each program requires a separate application. Meals On Wheels, Friendly Visitors and VIP Rides all utilize community volunteers to provide services, the Fall Prevention program utilizes nursing students from Unitek College and CA State East Bay.
All of our programs combined create both a safety net for people with chronic or debilitating illness, as well as a springboard for the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits that will enhance longevity. Whether you need short-term help or ongoing assistance, our low to no-cost, personalized services can help you and your caregivers meet the the challenges of aging.
Eligibility is based on need, not income.
